This Private-Island All-Inclusive in the Dominican Republic Is About to Join One of Hyatt's Most Exclusive Brands
Cayo Levantado Resort, a 218-suite property accessible only by boat off the Samana coast, will join The Unbound Collection by Hyatt this summer.
Cayo Levantado Resort, a 218-suite all-inclusive on its own island off the coast of Samana in the Dominican Republic, is set to join The Unbound Collection by Hyatt this summer. The move marks a significant repositioning for the property, which previously operated under the Bahia Principe umbrella.
The Unbound Collection is Hyatt's portfolio of independent, story-driven hotels and resorts. Adding Cayo Levantado gives the brand its first private-island all-inclusive in the Caribbean — and gives World of Hyatt members a new redemption option in a destination that's been gaining traction with travelers looking for something beyond the usual Punta Cana and Cancun circuit.
Guests reach the resort by boat, crossing from the mainland in under 15 minutes. Once on the island, the property feels self-contained: beaches wrap around multiple sides, three restaurants serve different cuisines (international buffet at Palma Real, seafood at Carey, Dominican fare at Manaya), and the Yubarta wellness center anchors the spa program with treatments inspired by Taino healing traditions.
All 218 suites include separate living areas and private outdoor space. The all-inclusive format covers meals, drinks, and daily activities including water sports, cultural programming, and conservation initiatives.
For the Hyatt Inclusive Collection, this adds another property to a portfolio that has grown rapidly over the past two years. The collection already includes dozens of all-inclusive resorts across Mexico and the Caribbean under brands like Secrets, Dreams, and Zoetry, but Cayo Levantado occupies a different niche — a boutique, island-only experience that trades mega-resort scale for seclusion.
Exact dates for the brand transition have not been confirmed, but the resort is expected to begin operating under The Unbound Collection by Hyatt before the end of summer 2026.
