View listHow our Best-Of lists work
Every category above is a separate ranking, and each uses a different methodology depending on what the category is actually trying to answer. Some lists are auto-generated from our internal rating data — we pull every resort that meets the category filter (adults-only, on a Caribbean island, tagged as wellness-focused), then sort by our weighted Resort Flock Rating, which is a normalized average of guest reviews across major travel platforms with adjustments for review volume and consistency. Other lists are hand-curated. The Best All-Inclusive, Best Food, Best Beach, and Best Luxury lists are written by our editors after weighing accolades like Michelin stars, AAA Five Diamond status, Forbes Five-Star ratings, and the World Travel Awards alongside the underlying guest data.
Our methodology deliberately avoids hotel star class as a primary signal. The all-inclusive industry is full of "5-star" properties whose actual quality varies wildly — a 5-star RIU and a 5-star Grand Velas are not in the same league, even though both share the same nominal rating. The Resort Flock Rating uses guest experience as the primary input because that's the signal that actually predicts whether you'll enjoy your week. We re-check the underlying data quarterly and re-rank when shifts are material.
Categories with fewer than three qualifying resorts don't get published as standalone lists; we fold them into a broader related category instead. That's why you won't see "Best All-Inclusive in Bermuda" as its own page yet — we don't have enough qualifying properties in our database to produce an honest ranking. When that changes, those lists go live.
