Hyatt Inclusive Collection Pushes Jamaica Reopenings Into 2027 With a Secrets Merge

Hyatt Inclusive Collection told buyers at Jamaica Product Exchange this week that its seven storm-closed resorts in Jamaica will return on a phased schedule in the first half of 2027, not the March 2027 window travelers had been hearing. Sales and marketing director Melissa Forbes also confirmed that Secrets St. James Montego Bay and Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay will reopen as a single adults-only resort branded Secrets Montego Bay.

What that means if you already booked Hyatt in Jamaica

If your winter or spring trip was built around Hyatt Inclusive inventory in Rose Hall or Montego Bay, treat March 2027 as outdated. Forbes said rooms, restaurants, and public spaces are being rebuilt beyond a like-for-like restore after Hurricane Melissa, so the company is not rushing a soft reopening that would leave guests in half-finished buildings. The footprint stays the same. The product does not.

The closed Hyatt Inclusive block is large enough to reshape Jamaica shopping for North American travelers: about 850 rooms across the Secrets pair, 495 at Dreams Rose Hall Resort & Spa, 621 at Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall and Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall, plus 215 at Jewel Grande and inventory at Breathless Montego Bay. Airlines and tour operators have already felt the missing rooms. Guests feel it as thinner choice and higher rates on the properties that are open.

Secrets Montego Bay is the booking name to watch

The Secrets merge is the clearest guest-facing change. Two neighboring adults-only resorts become one booking product under Secrets Resorts & Spas, which usually means one arrival experience, one beach program, and fewer edge cases about which lobby you use. Until Hyatt publishes a live booking page for Secrets Montego Bay, keep any 2027 adults-only Jamaica plan flexible and ask your advisor which confirmation code maps to which building.

What reopens sooner than Hyatt

Jamaica is not waiting on Hyatt alone. Tourism officials at JAPEX said the island is roughly 70 percent recovered on room stock, with more than 11,000 rooms due back across late 2026 and 2027. Near-term milestones include Zoetry inventory returning in October and 392 rooms at Sandals South Coast in November, then a bigger December wave. For guests who want Jamaica this winter, the practical move is to shop open or firm-dated brands first, and treat Hyatt Inclusive Rose Hall and Montego Bay as a first-half 2027 story until a resort-by-resort calendar is published.

At Dreams, designers are leaning into Jamaican artists, beach turtles, mangroves, and hillside views rather than a generic post-storm refresh. That is nice for the eventual stay. It does not help anyone holding a March 2027 assumption that no longer matches what Hyatt is telling the trade floor.
