Bahia Principe Hotels and Resorts has reopened its Runaway Bay property in Jamaica after an extensive renovation, rebranding it as Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay. The refreshed resort also joined the World of Hyatt loyalty program in March, giving members the ability to earn and redeem points at the property.

The renovation touched nearly every corner of the resort, updating guest rooms, public spaces, dining venues, and pool areas. The Escape sub-brand is positioned as Bahia Principe lifestyle-forward tier, targeting younger travelers and couples who want an all-inclusive experience with a more contemporary feel than the chain traditional Grand and Luxury tiers.

The Hyatt Inclusive Collection partnership is the bigger story here. By folding into World of Hyatt, Bahia Principe Jamaica property gains access to one of the most valuable loyalty ecosystems in hospitality. Hyatt elite members can now use their status benefits — including suite upgrades and late checkout — at the resort, and points bookings open the door to a new audience that might not have considered Bahia Principe before.

Runaway Bay sits on Jamaica north coast, roughly an hour east of Montego Bay. The area has seen a wave of investment recently, with several brands upgrading or expanding properties along the stretch. For Bahia Principe Jamaica portfolio, the Escape relaunch adds a more modern option alongside its existing Grand property on the island.

The resort is now accepting bookings for summer 2026 and beyond.
