One of the World's Top Luxury Hotel Brands Is Opening Its First-Ever All-Inclusive
JW Marriott is entering the all-inclusive market with a 415-room resort in Costa Rica's Guanacaste region, marking a major expansion for the luxury brand.
JW Marriott is preparing to open its first-ever all-inclusive resort, and it picked one of Central America's most sought-after coastlines for the debut. The JW Marriott Costa Elena Resort All-Inclusive will bring 415 rooms to Guanacaste, Costa Rica, marking the luxury brand's entry into the premium all-inclusive segment in the Caribbean and Latin America region.
The resort is part of the Costa Elena master-planned coastal development in northwestern Costa Rica, an area known for its remote Pacific beaches, national parks, and growing appeal among luxury travelers looking for an alternative to the more established Mexican and Caribbean corridors.
Luxury Meets All-Inclusive
JW Marriott is positioning the property around wellness, design, and service — hallmarks of the brand's existing portfolio of luxury hotels worldwide. While specific details on dining venues, pools, and spa facilities have not yet been released, the resort will operate as a fully all-inclusive property, a significant departure from JW Marriott's traditional room-only model.
The opening, expected later in 2026, reflects a broader industry trend of established luxury brands moving into the all-inclusive space. Hyatt, Kimpton, and Hilton have all launched or expanded all-inclusive offerings in recent years, recognizing that affluent travelers increasingly want the convenience of all-inclusive pricing without sacrificing quality.
Guanacaste benefits from strong North American airlift through Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport, making it easily accessible from major U.S. and Canadian cities — a practical advantage for a brand targeting the premium leisure market.
