Rating8.3Non-motorized water sports (kayaking, Hobie cats, boogie boards, snorkeling, windsurfing) are included. The daily entertainment schedule is active — Spanish lessons, Mexican cooking classes, water polo, aqua aerobics, beach volleyball. The Kids Club program is the most structured activity offering, with daily schedules for ages 4–12. Motorized water sports (jet skis, banana boat) and scuba diving cost extra.

One of two large connecting pools with rock formations, cascades, and tropical landscaping. Social hub of the resort. Busy 11am–4pm daily. Depth ranges allow children and adults to use the same space.
The second connecting pool, featuring water slides. More activity-focused than Pool 1. Slide queues form mid-morning; arrive at pool opening for shorter waits.
Smaller pool directly at the beach club. Swim-up bar service. Popular with adults who want drinks without the main pool crowd.
Shallow, temperature-controlled. Safe for children who aren't yet confident swimmers. Supervised area.
Second dedicated children's pool, provides extra capacity during peak family travel periods.
Available during certain hours — confirm times at check-in as these can change seasonally. Quieter than the family sections but access isn't always consistently enforced.
Located at El Cid Country Club, accessible via shuttle. Full-length pool for serious swimming. Far less crowded than the resort pools.
Direct beachfront access. Golden Zone has consistently good sand and the surf creates some natural wave action — better for boogie boarding and wading than calm-water swimming. Complimentary loungers, umbrellas, and palapa huts for resort guests. Beach vendors operate on the Golden Zone public beach, so expect approaches — you're on a shared public beach, not a private one.
Included. Pacific ocean conditions are generally calm in the morning, choppier after noon winds pick up. Good for beginners.
Included. Two-person sailboats. You need basic sailing knowledge or a willingness to tip over — staff instruction available. Sign up at the beach.
Included. The Golden Zone has surf, particularly in the afternoon. Boards available from beach staff.
Included. Mazatlán's Pacific reef isn't comparable to Caribbean reefs — manage expectations. Best near the rocky outcrops at low tide.
Included. Golden Zone winds make this more viable than at some all-inclusives. Beginner instruction available.
Included. Organized games in the main pool, usually mid-morning. Competitive enough to be fun without being exclusive.
Included. Court on the sand, organized games daily. Walk-in play when entertainment staff isn't running structured games.
Included. Morning sessions, led by resort staff. Lower-intensity than the gym, useful if you want to move without working out hard.
Included. Modest equipment selection compared to larger properties. Basic cardio machines and free weights.
Included. Typically beach morning sessions. Check the daily activity board for time — varies by season.
Included. Daily in the main pool. Popular with guests 50+ but welcoming to all ages.
Included for ages 4–12. Structured daily programs covering sports, crafts, cooking, Spanish lessons, snorkeling lessons, and piñata parties. One of the more substantive kids' programs for a mid-range Mazatlán property. Register children on day of arrival.
Included for ages 13–17. Daily from 10am to 9pm. Hangout space with games and activities rather than structured programming. Good for teens who've aged out of the Kids Club but aren't ready for adult activities.
Included. Main venue is La Pérgola dinner theater. Different performance each night. Quality varies week to week.
Included. Weekly themed events complement the regular nightly shows. Check the weekly schedule on arrival.
Included. Table games and billiards available indoors. Good rainy-day option.
Included. Basic conversational Spanish, usually late morning. Genuinely fun with a good instructor.
Included. Hands-on sessions covering traditional dishes. Holiday specials (tamales, chiles en nogada) offered seasonally.
Additional charge. Available on the beach, easy walk-up rental.
Additional charge. Group activity, fun for families.
Additional charge. Mazatlán Bay cruise options including sunset and dinner cruises bookable through concierge.
Additional charge. Pacific diving is less dramatic than Caribbean — manage expectations vs. Cozumel.
Additional charge. Aries Fleet departs from El Cid Marina. Mazatlán is legitimately known for marlin and sailfish.
Additional charge unless booked in Elite room category. 27-hole championship course across the street from Granada. Equipment not included.
Additional charge unless in Elite room. Nine courts, some lit for evening play. Equipment extra.
