Shares the same spectacular Cap Cana beachfront with calm, pale-blue Caribbean water and immaculate sand. The infinity pools blur the line between pool and ocean in one of the Dominican Republic's most exclusive enclaves.

The clearest reason to book Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana over any of the other large family all-inclusives near Punta Cana is the dual-resort access: guests here can walk over to the adjacent Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana, the adults-only sibling, to use its quieter pools, bars, and restaurants whenever they want a break from the family crowds. That kind of built-in pressure valve is rare, and it makes Ziva Cap Cana a legitimate option for multigenerational trips and couples traveling with kids who still want downtime.
The Canapolis Water Park is the other anchor — a proper water park, not just a splash pad, with a lazy river, five slides (minimum height 1.2m), water cannons, and a zero-entry play area for younger kids. It's included in the rate and open daily from 10am to 5pm. For families with kids between roughly 4 and 14, this alone will drive most of the daily schedule. The 14,000 sq ft fitness center, open 24 hours, and beachside yoga classes give adults something to do when the kids are at the supervised Kids Club (ages 4–12) or the Teen Club (13–17, open 3pm–9pm).
The honest complaint that appears consistently in guest reviews is about the beach: Juanillo Beach is calm and swimmable — genuinely good for young kids — but limited shade is a real issue, and seaweed can appear without much warning. A separate, more persistent complaint is about pool temperatures; the main pools are unheated and can be cold, particularly in winter months. Neither issue is unique to this resort, but they come up enough to mention.
Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana opened in 2019 with 375 suites, all at least 600 square feet — the entire property is all-suite, which helps with families who need the space. The property sits within the gated Cap Cana development about 15 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ). Six restaurants and seven bars operate on the Ziva side alone; Club Level guests get additional access to the Bosque Lounge, a private pool, dedicated concierge, and butler service on select upper suite categories. The Blind Butcher, a five-course South American tasting experience, carries a surcharge and is the one restaurant guests consistently single out as worth the extra cost. Airport transfers are not included and should be booked in advance.
High season runs December through April. The resort books well in advance for Christmas and spring break, and Club Level rooms in particular sell out early. The comparable property to consider is Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Punta Cana, which adds a recognizable kids' IP and character breakfasts — if your children are under 8 and into that world, it may be a better fit. For couples without children, skip Ziva entirely and book Zilara next door.
