Seven All-Inclusive Resorts in Jamaica Just Got Pushed Back Again — and Won't Reopen Until Next Year

Hyatt Inclusive Collection has pushed back the reopening of seven all-inclusive resorts in Jamaica to the first quarter of 2027, extending what was already a prolonged recovery from Hurricane Melissa's devastation last year.

The affected properties span some of the most recognizable names in Montego Bay and Rose Hall: Breathless Montego Bay Resort & Spa, Dreams Rose Hall Resort & Spa, Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall, Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall, Secrets St. James Montego Bay, Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay, and Jewel Grande Montego Bay Resort & Spa.

The delay stems from ongoing structural evaluations that have revealed more extensive damage than initially assessed. According to Hyatt, deeper inspections during the recovery process frequently uncovered additional work that required attention before the properties could safely welcome guests again. Rather than rush partial reopenings, the company opted to push all seven properties into early 2027.

The impact on Jamaica's tourism infrastructure is significant. These seven resorts represent a major share of the island's all-inclusive room inventory in the upscale and upper-upscale segments, and their continued absence leaves a noticeable gap during peak travel seasons. Other Jamaica properties, including those operated by Sandals Resorts, have already resumed operations.

For travelers with existing bookings at any of the affected resorts, Hyatt has been offering rebooking options at sister properties across the Caribbean and Mexico. The Hyatt Inclusive Collection portfolio includes dozens of operational resorts in destinations like Cancun and Punta Cana.
