Stunning Architecture & Views
The cliffside Mediterranean design, tiered pools, and Caribbean panoramas are universally praised. The multi-level layout creates Instagram-worthy vistas at every turn, earning back-to-back global photography awards.
Island Exclusivity
With only 125 suites accessible only by private catamaran, the resort delivers a genuine island escape that never feels crowded. The arrival boat ride itself is described as magical and sets the tone for the entire stay.
Pristine Water Quality
Unlike mainland Cancún, the water around Isla Mujeres stays crystal-clear and seaweed-free year-round. Guests consistently praise the snorkeling directly off the resort pier and the swimmable dock beach.
Butler Service & Personalization
Most guests find the butler service exceptional — from stocking wine fridges with personal favorites to arranging dining and activities. When matched with a great butler, the experience is transformative.
Unique Experiences
The four-story waterslide into the Caribbean, the Floatarium, over-water hammocks, and al fresco cinema create memorable experiences that distinguish this resort from every other all-inclusive.
Stairs & Accessibility
The dramatic hillside design means navigating many levels and staircases throughout the property. While elevators and a winding ramp exist, guests with mobility challenges should be aware of the terrain.
Value at This Price Point
At $1,400–$4,500 per night, expectations run extremely high. Some guests feel the food quality, while good for all-inclusive, doesn't fully match the ultra-luxury pricing — comparisons to mid-tier cruise ship cuisine surface occasionally.
Timeshare Sales Pressure
Multiple guests report being contacted — sometimes via 8 AM phone calls — by staff promoting vacation club memberships. This feels incongruent with the ultra-luxury positioning.
Inconsistent Service Moments
While service is generally strong, some guests encounter butlers who are hard to reach or restaurant service that slows during busy breakfast periods. The experience can vary depending on staffing.

Best Luxury All-Inclusive Resorts
An ultra-luxury Hyatt Inclusive Collection property with Endless Privileges, five gourmet restaurants, and named the Most Instagrammable Hotel in the World. The pinnacle of the Secrets brand.

The journey to Impression Isla Mujeres by Secrets is part of the product: a 45-minute catamaran ride from the Cancún marina — full bar service, butler attendance — is the arrival experience, and it sets the tone for what follows. The resort opened in May 2023 as the flagship of Hyatt's ultra-luxury Impression by Secrets brand, on the southern tip of Isla Mujeres, a small island 8 km off the Cancún coast accessible only by boat. No other hotel guests on the beaches, no traffic noise, no shared access.
All 125 suites start at 602 square feet, which is the smallest room. The layout cascades down Mediterranean-style limestone architecture across multiple cliff levels, with tiered infinity pools, ocean-view terraces, and dramatic drop-offs at every turn. The Endless Privileges all-inclusive rate is comprehensive: seven restaurants, seven bars, 24-hour room service, twice-daily minibar refresh, personal butler from 7 AM to 11 PM, daily laundry, a welcome bottle of Patrón tequila, and a complimentary 20-minute spa treatment. Le Labo bath amenities, Nespresso machines, wine fridges, and three daily housekeeping visits are standard across all suite categories.
The dining program is led by Master Chef Paolo Parlanti. Seven restaurants span Italian (Spezia), surf-and-turf (Wildfire Grill), rooftop tapas with sunset views (UNIK The Kitchen), teppanyaki (Sake), breakfast panoramas (La Vista), poolside pizza and tacos (Mercado), and 24-hour pastries and espresso (Cacao). The four-story waterslide — operational twice daily for limited sessions — drops directly into the Caribbean Sea and is the most shared social media element of the property. Snorkeling directly off the pier reaches coral and reef fish without needing an excursion.
The honest drawbacks: the hillside architecture involves considerable stairs. Elevators and ramps exist, but guests with mobility issues need to consider the layout seriously. Butler quality is inconsistent — some are exceptional and anticipate every need; others default to text-only communication and require following up. The beach is a dock-style pier area rather than a traditional sandy stretch. Transfer logistics are involved: 40 minutes from the airport to the marina plus a 45-minute catamaran, with the last boat around 8 PM. The resort has also received reports of timeshare/vacation club calls, including early-morning phone calls to rooms, which jars with the ultra-luxury positioning.
