Inconsistent Food Quality
A prevalent concern is the buffet food, often reported as repetitive, cold, tasteless, or of poor quality, indicating a need for significant improvement in catering consistency.
Remote Location & Limited Beach Access
The hotel's isolated setting means it's "far from everything," lacking direct access to sandy beaches and often necessitating a car rental to explore Menorca's better coastal areas.
Poor Room Soundproofing
Many guests experience disturbances due to thin walls and poor sound insulation between rooms, leading to noise from neighbors and common areas.
All-Inclusive Restrictions
Frustration arises from the all-inclusive package strictly ending at 12 p.m. on checkout day, leading to unexpected charges for late departure food and drinks, alongside fees for towel changes.
Inadequate Public Area Air Conditioning
The lobby and restaurant areas can become uncomfortably warm due to insufficient air conditioning, impacting dining and relaxation experiences.

The main hook at Alua Illa de Menorca isn't the resort itself — it's the cluster it belongs to. Guests can walk less than 50 meters and use the pools, restaurants, and facilities at AluaSoul Menorca and AluaSun Mediterráneo. That means three distinct pool environments, five dining venues, and a proper spa (heated indoor pool, sauna, hot tub, two treatment rooms) that would otherwise cost extra at a standalone property. This is genuinely unusual for a 4-star all-inclusive.
This resort works best for families with children aged 4–12 who want the Astro Club program (daily 10:15–13:15, June–September) and don't need a sandy beach at the doorstep. Couples who want a true spa retreat should consider booking the AluaSoul Menorca directly — the spa access here is a privilege, not the core experience. Solo travelers and groups will find little designed specifically for them.
The honest limitation: there is no direct sandy beach access. The immediate seafront is rocky. Cala Alcaufar, a small sandy bay, is 1.2km away with a complimentary hotel shuttle — but it is a small cove, not a grand beach. If beach quality matters to your trip, this is the main reason to look elsewhere in Menorca.
Practically: 228 rooms across five categories, all with private balconies. Countryside-view doubles are 237 sq ft — functional but not spacious. The Junior Suite Sea View steps up to 323 sq ft with a double sofa bed, suitable for families of four. The Double Superior with Terrace adds a proper 12-square-meter outdoor space and a Nespresso machine. The resort is 12km from Menorca Airport, 20–25 minutes by car. All-inclusive benefits cut off strictly at noon on departure day.
High season runs June through September; the Astro Club and full entertainment schedule only operate during these months. Book early for peak July–August dates, and request an upper-floor sea-view room at booking rather than on arrival.
