Alua Calvia Mallorca finished a comprehensive renovation in January 2026, which means guests are arriving to essentially a new resort in an established shell. Mediterranean-inspired interiors, Mallorcan craftsmanship details throughout the public areas, and updated room finishes across all 391 units put it in a different condition than most Mallorca all-inclusives of similar age. The renovation is recent enough that early 2026 guest reviews carry more weight than historical ratings for evaluating the current experience.
The setting overlooks the Bay of Calvia from Magaluf — a location that divides opinion. Magaluf itself is known as a party destination for younger British tourists, particularly along the strip outside the resort's immediate area. The Alua Calvia positions itself away from that scene, and the renovation's Mediterranean aesthetic creates a noticeably different atmosphere than the surrounding context. The bay views from the property are genuine and good. Guests who have researched Magaluf's reputation may be put off before arriving; those who go typically report the resort itself doesn't match the neighborhood's lowest-common-denominator image.
The My Favourite Club tier is the property's clearest differentiator. The exclusive pool eliminates the peak-season sunbed competition problem entirely for club guests. The private lounge with all-day premium drinks and snacks, personalized check-in, and in-room upgrades (Technogym access, upgraded amenities) function as a genuine two-tier experience within the same building.
Practical details: 391 rooms, 4-star, Magaluf. 25-minute transfer from Palma Airport (PMI) — one of the shorter Mallorca airport times. No specialty à la carte dining — guests eating all meals on property for 7+ nights will eat buffet every night. The two buffet restaurants (Terra and Ocean) reduce queue times by splitting capacity. Spa uses Natura Bissé products — above-average for this category. Magaluf Beach is 10–15 minutes on foot.
Best season is April–October. The location makes late April and early October particularly good — the bay views are at their best, the pool is comfortable, and the Magaluf party crowd is minimal.
