Tamarind, Barbados, An Autograph Collection All Inclusive Resort has reopened on the island's Platinum West Coast, finishing Marriott International's multi-million-dollar overhaul of its full Barbados Collection. The oceanfront property now has 111 refreshed guestrooms and suites, upgraded public spaces, new culinary concepts, and programming built around Barbadian culture under the Autograph Collection All-Inclusive flag.

What changed for guests at Tamarind

Interiors lean contemporary Caribbean with a more relaxed island feel. Dining includes Sugar Cane Restaurant, Harvest & Hive, 246 Bar & Restaurant, and seaside Sugar Shack. The standout for food-focused travelers is Caribbean Restaurant, described as the island's first air-conditioned restaurant dedicated exclusively to authentic Barbadian cuisine. Rum tastings, Soca dance lessons, and cooking classes featuring dishes such as fish cakes are on the activity list.

Families get CAMP Club, developed with CAMP and Marriott Bonvoy, mixing indoor and outdoor play with local arts, crafts, music, and storytelling. Several pools, beachfront areas, motorized and non-motorized water sports, and wellness facilities stay in the package. For guests comparing West Coast Barbados stays, Tamarind is back as a full-service all-inclusive option rather than a property mid-reno.

How Marriott reshaped the Barbados Collection

The two-year program touched all seven properties and split them across Marriott soft brands. Waves Resort & Spa, Treasure Beach, The House, and Tamarind now sit under Autograph Collection All-Inclusive. Crystal Cove and Turtle Beach moved to Tribute Portfolio All-Inclusive. Colony Club reopened as Barbados' first Luxury Collection hotel.

That split matters if you book by brand personality. Autograph properties are meant to feel individual and place-driven. Tribute Portfolio aims at a design-forward select-service vibe. The Luxury Collection is the top of the ladder for guests who want a more formal product. With Tamarind back online, Marriott's Barbados strategy is no longer a renovation timeline. It is a finished portfolio of seven distinct resorts on one island.

Why travelers should care now

Barbados already draws return visitors who know the West Coast well. A completed collection gives Bonvoy members clearer choices across luxury, premium, and all-inclusive price points without leaving the island. If you have been waiting for Tamarind specifically, or for the broader Marriott Barbados shake-up to settle, the reopening on Sept. 14 closes that chapter and puts the renovated rooms back on sale.
