This All-Inclusive Chain Just Created an Entirely New Brand — and It's Debuting on One of the Caribbean's Most Beautiful Coasts
Royalton Luxury Resorts is launching Vessence, a new adults-only brand focused on wellness and creativity, with its first property opening in Barbados this summer.
Royalton Luxury Resorts is spinning off a new adults-only brand called Vessence, and its debut property — Royalton Vessence Barbados — is set to open on the island's Platinum Coast this summer. The 220-suite resort, part of Marriott's Autograph Collection, replaces what was previously known as Royalton CHIC Barbados.
The rebrand is more than a name change. Vessence is built around what Royalton calls a blend of wellness, creativity, and Caribbean authenticity — a deliberate pivot from the party-forward vibe that defines many adults-only all-inclusives. The centerpiece is The Studio, a multifunctional space that hosts hands-on workshops in art, pottery, and cooking during the day, then converts into an intimate venue for live jazz and acoustic performances at night.
On the wellness side, a program called Moddo by Royalton FIT offers yoga, breathwork, and movement sessions led by dedicated coaches. The resort also features glow-lit pools designed for late-night swimming under the stars — a signature amenity that Royalton hopes will set Vessence apart from competitors.
All 220 suites come in calming neutral tones with the brand's signature DreamBed, and the property sits just 30 minutes from Grantley Adams International Airport. Guests get unlimited à la carte dining, 24-hour room service, and what Royalton says is the first complimentary airport shuttle service of any resort in Barbados.
The launch comes at a time when the adults-only all-inclusive segment is booming. Brands like Secrets Resorts and Hyatt Zilara have been expanding aggressively, and Royalton is clearly betting that a more curated, experience-driven approach can carve out its own niche.
