This All-Inclusive Brand Just Spent €150 Million on Its Newest Resort — and It Opens in Days
Ikos Resorts is about to open its eighth property on the shores of western Crete, featuring 414 rooms, seven Michelin-starred restaurants, and a LEED Gold sustainability commitment.
Ikos Resorts will open its newest property, Ikos Kissamos, on April 30 on the shores of Kissamos Bay in western Crete. The €150 million resort is the brand's largest investment to date and its eighth property overall — and its first on the Cretan Sea.
The 414-room resort will feature seven gourmet restaurants, each led by Michelin-starred chefs, continuing the brand's culinary-forward approach to all-inclusive hospitality. Guests will also have access to the Ikos Spa by Anne Semonin, a fully serviced beach, watersports, padel courts, and curated evening entertainment.
What sets Ikos Kissamos apart from many new resort builds is its sustainability ambitions. The property is pursuing LEED Gold certification for its construction and design, in line with the brand's broader Ikos Green standards. Those targets include a net-zero carbon plan for 2030, elimination of single-use plastics, zero waste to landfill, full water reuse, and organic waste composting.
Room rates start at €429 per night on an all-inclusive basis for a Superior Double Room.
The opening adds to a strong run for Ikos across southern Europe. The brand already operates properties in Greece — including Ikos Dassia, Ikos Aria, Ikos Oceania, and Ikos Odisia — along with Ikos Andalusia in Spain and Ikos Porto Petro in Mallorca. Kissamos extends the brand's Greek footprint to its most westerly point yet.
For travelers who have been watching the all-inclusive space shift toward luxury, Ikos Kissamos is another signal that the category is maturing fast — and that European destinations are keeping pace with the Caribbean.
