A Legendary Hotel Brand Just Transformed a Historic New Orleans Bank Building Into a 250-Room Luxury Property
Fairmont New Orleans opens this month inside the former Bank of New Orleans, with a rooftop bar, 10,000-sq-ft spa, and rates from $395.
Fairmont is making its New Orleans debut inside one of the city's most recognizable buildings. Fairmont New Orleans opens this month at 1010 Common Street, occupying the former Bank of New Orleans building in the Central Business District, just minutes from the French Quarter.
The hotel brings 250 rooms and suites to the property, including 40 suites. Amenities include a restaurant, lobby lounge, and a rooftop bar with panoramic views of the city skyline. A 10,000-square-foot spa anchors the wellness offering, and a swimming pool rounds out the leisure facilities.
On the events side, the hotel features nine indoor meeting spaces across two private floors, totaling 19,600 square feet of flexible event space with capacity for up to 500 guests. That makes it a significant addition to the city's luxury meetings market, which has seen growing demand from corporate and incentive travel planners.
The location puts guests within walking distance of Bourbon Street, Jackson Square, and St. Louis Cathedral, while the Central Business District offers its own dining and cultural scene. The property is managed by Accor, Fairmont's parent company, which has been expanding its luxury footprint across North America.
Lead-in rates start from $395 per night, placing the hotel in the upper tier of the New Orleans luxury market. The opening comes as the city prepares for a busy summer travel season, with demand driven by cultural events, conventions, and growing international visitor interest.
Fairmont operates more than 80 properties worldwide, and the New Orleans addition fills a notable gap in its U.S. portfolio. The brand has been targeting gateway cities and culturally rich destinations as part of a broader luxury expansion strategy under Accor.
