One of Miami's Most Legendary Hotels Just Reopened — and It Looks Nothing Like You Remember
The Delano Miami Beach is back after a landmark renovation that restores its Art Deco soul while adding a second pool, Paris Society restaurants, and the return of the Rose Bar.
The Delano Miami Beach officially reopened on March 9 after a comprehensive renovation that aims to recapture what made the hotel a South Beach institution while updating it for a new era of luxury hospitality.
Originally opened in 1995, the Delano helped define the boutique hotel movement and became synonymous with Miami's nightlife and celebrity culture. Now, under Ennismore's management, the 171-room property has undergone a thorough overhaul led by Elastic Architects in collaboration with Ennismore's in-house design team.
What's new
The renovation preserved key historical elements — original terrazzo flooring, the mezzanine bridge, and the lobby's iconic hexagonal columns — while the guestrooms and suites embrace a softer, more contemporary aesthetic with bespoke lighting and custom furnishings. Poolside Bungalow Suites and Penthouse Suites anchor the room collection.
The biggest additions include a new beachfront amenity deck, a second pool on the fourth floor, and a wellness studio. On the dining side, four food and beverage concepts are moving in, including two in partnership with Paris Society — marking the French hospitality group's first U.S. venture. The famed Rose Bar, which once hosted everyone from Madonna to Jay-Z, also returns.
A bet on South Beach's comeback
The Delano's return comes at a pivotal moment for South Beach, which has seen a wave of luxury renovations aimed at shifting the neighborhood's reputation from party destination to serious hospitality market. The hotel joins the Ennismore portfolio, which includes brands like The Hoxton and Mondrian, and signals that global boutique operators still see Miami Beach as one of the world's most valuable hotel markets.
