Rating8.9The activity program emphasizes wellness, water, and cultural enrichment over organized entertainment. Daily yoga and meditation are the anchors. The reef directly offshore is accessible without a boat for snorkeling. Horseback riding on the beach, scuba diving, and kite surfing are available at additional cost.
The larger of two pools winds through the property in a serpentine channel connecting palapa buildings with wooden footbridges. Balinese daybeds and wooden deck platforms dot the edges. The Caicu swim-up bar sits at the center. Depth is shallow enough for standing throughout — not a lap pool, very much a social and floating pool. Guest reviews consistently describe this as among the cleanest pools experienced at any all-inclusive. The Agua Junior Suites have direct terrace access into this pool.
A second infinity pool near the beach with an edge facing the Caribbean Sea. More intimate and quieter than the main pool — fewer organized activities happen here, making it the contemplative alternative. Palm-shaded loungers and palapa umbrellas. The ocean horizon view is the primary draw.
Approximately 200 yards of private white-sand beach on the Dominican Republic's less-developed eastern coast. Turquoise Caribbean waters are generally calm with a coral reef accessible directly from the sand — no boat trip required for snorkeling. Beach loungers, plush towels, palapa shade, and beach and pool service are all included. The coral reef's proximity is the beach's key advantage over most Punta Cana properties. The significant caveat: sargassum seaweed arrives seasonally, most heavily from March through October. Resort staff clean the beach multiple times daily but cannot fully keep up during peak seaweed events. November through February is the lowest-sargassum window. The undeveloped Uvero Alto coast extends for miles in both directions for beach walking.
Daily Flow, Hatha, and Pranayama sessions in garden and beachfront settings. Schedule posted weekly at the activities desk. Instruction is led by experienced teachers — these are proper classes, not resort-level stretching sessions.
Guided breathing and meditation in garden settings. Offered in conjunction with the yoga program. Shorter sessions (20–30 minutes) that complement the main yoga classes.
Coral reef directly offshore means you can snorkel without a boat. Equipment provided at the beach. The reef's proximity is a genuine differentiator — most Dominican Republic snorkeling requires a boat trip. Bring reef-safe sunscreen as the marine protected area restricts conventional sunscreens.
Single and tandem kayaks for exploring the Uvero Alto coastline. The relatively calm Caribbean waters here are appropriate for casual paddling. Best in the morning before afternoon winds pick up.
Hobie Cat catamarans available from the beach. Free sailing lessons provided for beginners. The sail-from-the-beach format requires navigating through the reef zone — staff can advise on channels.
Pool-based cycling sessions combining cardio with water resistance. Low-impact and effective in the tropical heat. Scheduled sessions — check timing with the activities desk.
Court on the private beach with equipment provided. Organized games when enough guests are interested; self-organized the rest of the time.
Modern air-conditioned gym open 24 hours. Cardio machines, resistance equipment, and free weights. Compact but well-equipped for a 96-suite property.
Guided sessions with the on-site sommelier, drawing from the vintage wine cellar used in Olena. One of the more substantive included cultural activities — not just a casual pourings event.
Dominican cigar rolling demonstrations from local experts. Contextually appropriate given the Dominican Republic's cigar heritage. The learn-and-try format is interactive rather than purely observational.
Art sessions in garden settings. Materials and instruction provided. Suitable for complete beginners.
Hands-on culinary workshops with Caribbean and international techniques. Scheduled periodically — confirm at check-in.
Learn to mix Caribbean cocktails with resort bartenders. Offered multiple times per week.
Conversational Spanish sessions. Practical for interacting with local staff and exploring the island — Uvero Alto has limited English speakers outside the resort.
Bicycles available for exploring the resort grounds and surrounding Uvero Alto area. The coastal road north and south of the resort is flat and scenic.
The Uvero Alto coastline extends for miles in both directions from the resort, undeveloped and quiet. Morning and sunset walks are particularly good.
Afternoon tea service included with the Endless Privileges package. The Zoëtry brand makes this a consistent daily ritual rather than an occasional event.
Every guest receives one 20-minute wellness treatment per stay — book it on arrival day as availability is limited and the popular time slots fill within 24 hours of check-in.
Complimentary spa circuit in a thatched-roof open-air pavilion with indoor heated pool, Finnish sauna, steam room, underwater bubble beds, and sensation showers. Available to all guests. Plan 45–60 minutes for the full circuit.
45-minute beach and countryside rides arranged through concierge. Additional cost — typically around $60–80 per person. The beach setting and surrounding Dominican countryside make this one of the better horseback experiences in Punta Cana area.
Introductory and certified dives off Uvero Alto's reef, arranged through concierge. The offshore reef provides accessible diving without a long boat ride.
Lessons available with local instructors using the easterly trade winds common in this part of the Dominican coast. Additional cost — arrange at least 24 hours in advance through concierge.
Ocean fishing excursions in Caribbean waters. Arranged through concierge.
Tours to Punta Cana town, Cap Cana, and cultural sites arranged through concierge. The remote location means most guests stay on property, but day trips are feasible.
