Five Islands Village (Deep Bay), Antigua and Barbuda
Royalton Antigua's activity program leans toward water sports and group fitness, with a strong kids' and teens' offering that makes this workable for multigenerational trips. Deep Bay's calm, protected waters make it a better-than-average snorkeling and kayaking site.
The largest pool, featuring a swim-up bar and massage jets. This is where most of the daytime action happens — pool volleyball, music, and organized games. It gets busy mid-morning through late afternoon.
A dedicated water-play zone with water slides, sprinklers, and jets sized for young children. Keeps kids occupied independently from the adult pool areas.
A separate pool specifically for organized competitive activities like water polo. Less casual lounging; more structured programming.
A quieter pool with a horizon-blending design. The Chairman's Overwater Bungalows have their own private infinity plunge pools — these are separate from the shared resort pool.
Semi-private pools accessible directly from the ground-floor terraces of Diamond Club Luxury Junior Swim-Out Suites. These offer more privacy than the main pools but aren't fully private.
A reserved pool exclusively for Diamond Club guests. Noticeably quieter than the main pool area — one of the primary practical benefits of the Diamond Club upgrade for guests who prefer a calmer setting.
Royalton Antigua's private stretch of Deep Bay is its genuine selling point. The beach is known for fine golden sand locally called 'cashmere sand,' and the water is calm and clear — better for swimming and snorkeling than the rougher Atlantic-facing beaches on the island's other coast. Diamond Club guests have an exclusive section with dedicated bar and waiter service. Beach cabanas are available for an additional fee. The wreck of the Andes nearby makes this a legitimate snorkeling destination.
Complimentary and self-guided in the calm waters of Deep Bay. The sheltered bay means this is accessible even for guests who haven't kayaked before. Best in the morning before afternoon winds pick up.
Equipment included at no extra charge. Deep Bay has some reef presence — it's not the Great Barrier Reef, but for a resort beach snorkel it's above average. The wreck of the Andes sits just offshore.
Informal pickup games organized by the entertainment team. Worth it if you want a social activity; easy to skip if not.
Complimentary pool-based intro sessions for beginners. These don't include an open-water dive — for that, you book off-site through Royalton Excursions at additional cost.
Courts available with instructors for lessons. Complimentary access; instruction may carry a fee — confirm on arrival.
Casual organized games. Good for teens and active adults who want something more physical than pool volleyball.
Available around the resort for casual play. No scheduling required.
An unusually large class roster for an all-inclusive: Bootcamp, Beach Bootcamp, Yoga, Sunrise Yoga, SkyRise Yoga, Pilates, CrossFit, Aqua Fit, Zumba, Aqua Zumba, Strong by Zumba, Zumba Toning, Kickboxing, and Outdoor Running Club among others. Check the daily schedule posted at the fitness center. All included.
Supervised program with structured activities, playground access, splash pool, games, and character interactions (Max & Ruby). Runs on a daily schedule; parents drop off and pick up. Included.
Teen-specific space with PlayStation, flat-screen movies, billiards, ping pong, foosball, air hockey, free Wi-Fi, and access to water sports and dance lessons. Helps on family trips where teens need their own space.
Live music and themed shows at the open-air theatre most evenings. Quality varies by night; the entertainment team also organizes daytime games and competitions at the pool.
Regular themed events with DJ music at the main pool or beach. These are the liveliest moments at the resort — worth checking the weekly schedule on arrival.
Group dance sessions led by the entertainment staff. Casual and social — no experience needed.
Offered periodically; focused on local Antiguan flavors and techniques. Check the weekly activity schedule for timing.
Structured lessons in Caribbean dance styles. Good way to connect with other guests.
Periodic workshops exploring Antiguan history and cultural traditions. Light educational content packaged as leisure.
Organized trivia sessions with the entertainment team. Casual evening activity.
Certified divers can book open-water dives to sites like Jolly Harbour through Royalton Excursions. Priced separately; book through the concierge early in your stay.
Off-site tours around Antigua — popular options include sailing, island tours, and English Harbour. All priced separately. The concierge desk handles bookings.
