Paradisus Salinas Lanzarote is one of the architecturally significant hotels in the Canary Islands. The original building dates to 1973 and won the International Prize for Architecture in 1979—a collaboration between Fernando Higueras and César Manrique, who integrated rationalist architecture with organic pools, volcanic stone, and tropical planting that looks like it grew there rather than was installed. The €15 million renovation completed in 2023 preserved the heritage status (it is classified as an Artistic and Cultural Heritage site) while updating rooms, restaurants, and amenities.
The all-inclusive program here uses the Destination Inclusive® model, which means cultural experiences off the resort are included—particularly meaningful in Lanzarote, an island shaped by Manrique's design philosophy across its major landmarks. Guests staying four or more nights can access curated excursions to local wineries, volcanic sites, and Manrique foundations rather than just staying on property. Daily premium minibar refills, 24-hour room service, gym, yoga, and Pilates are all included. Three à la carte dinner restaurants require reservations.
The property is strictly adults-only (16+), making it one of the few all-inclusives in Spain's island territories that fully enforces this. The Reserve tier adds a dedicated pool, private breakfast at Samira, and a pool bar serving a signature lobster roll.
Lanzarote's coastal climate is year-round mild, which is the island's main practical advantage over Caribbean destinations. Wind is the variable—Costa Teguise faces northeast trade winds which are refreshing in summer but can be persistent. The beach access to Playa de Las Cucharas and Playa Los Charcos gives guests options; Las Cucharas in particular is one of the better windsurfing beaches in Europe, which is relevant context for guests who prefer calmer swimming conditions.
