Dining Inconsistencies

Ocean Point Resort & Spa sits on one of the quietest bays in Antigua, about five to seven minutes from VC Bird International Airport. With 68 to 69 rooms, this is a genuinely small property—not boutique in the aspirational marketing sense, but small enough that staff remember your name by day two. The resort is family-owned, and it shows: there is reportedly a resident cat and dog, and the overall vibe is closer to a well-run guesthouse than a chain hotel.
The resort attracts couples and independent travelers who have done the big Jamaican or Dominican all-inclusive and want something quieter. Two private beaches, a saltwater lagoon pool, and a dining scene anchored by SottoVento's Caribbean-Mediterranean-Italian fusion cover the core needs. If you want a water park, an entertainment team, and a dozen restaurant options, this is the wrong property.
The main honest drawback: the property is dated in places and inconsistently maintained. Guest reviews specifically call out rooms with old balcony doors that are difficult to open, occasional hot water issues, and common areas that need investment. The Cabana rooms have been renovated more recently and are worth the step-up if budget allows. Day pass guests and cruise visitors occasionally affect lunch timing and sun lounger availability—worth knowing if you are paying full resort rates.
Antigua itself is manageable to explore independently. Cedar Valley Golf Course is five minutes away. The island safari and stingray excursions are popular and easily arranged. Be aware of the Tourism Guest Levy of USD $3–$5 per person per night, payable locally, and note that the resort operates cashless (Visa, Mastercard, Amex only). Immigration requires the ArriveAntigua.com online form within 72 hours of arrival.
