Decameron El Pueblo is the only all-inclusive resort in Lima, and its defining feature has nothing to do with a beach: the entire property is designed to resemble a traditional Andean village, with cobblestone paths, colonial-style facades, and a main plaza where nightly entertainment replaces the typical pool stage. Built in 1964 and renovated in 2005, the 231-room complex sits in Santa Clara, about 29–39 km from central Lima and roughly 30 minutes from Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM).
This resort makes sense for a specific traveler: families and groups visiting Lima who want an all-inclusive base with Peruvian cultural flair, or Peruvians taking a domestic weekend break. It does not make sense for travelers expecting beach access — there is none — or for guests hoping for boutique-hotel polish. The village aesthetic is genuine and charming, but some buildings are showing their age, and room quality is inconsistent.
The clearest drawback is infrastructure. Multiple guest reports cite hot water outages, room-cleanliness issues including insects, and a check-in process that can stall for hours during peak arrivals. The nightly entertainment in the main plaza is lively — which is a pro or a con depending on whether your room faces it.
Practically speaking: 231–234 rooms across three categories (Standard, Superior, Suite), 5 restaurants, 4 bars, 7 outdoor pools including waterslides, a sauna, and a kids' club (small surcharge). The all-inclusive rate covers food, alcohol, most activities, and entertainment. Peruvian citizens pay an additional 18% VAT; foreign nationals do not if they show a valid passport at check-in. Price tier is mid-range for Lima.
The best time to visit Lima is May through November, the dry season, though the city is famously overcast year-round. Book directly with Decameron for the most competitive rates, and request a room away from the plaza if you go to bed before midnight.
