Club Med Saint-Moritz Roi Soleil sits at 1,750m above sea level in one of the most storied ski towns in Europe — St. Moritz has been hosting international winter sports since the 1860s. The 311-room property was last significantly renovated in 2010, which is evident in some of the room finishes, though the common areas have held up reasonably well. The location trades on the St. Moritz name rather than on-slope positioning: this is not ski-in/ski-out, and getting to the closest lift requires a 5–10 minute walk or the resort shuttle. Budget time for this daily.
The strongest argument for this resort over booking St. Moritz independently is economics. The all-inclusive package includes not just accommodation and meals, but a full six-day lift pass covering 350km across the Engadin ski domain, group ski and snowboard lessons for all ages, and — uniquely — lunch at two gourmet mountain restaurants (Corviglia at 2,550m and Corvatsch) on specified days. These mountain restaurants would cost significantly more if booked directly. For families especially, the bundled childcare (Mini Club for ages 4–10, Junior Club for 11–13, Chill Pass for 14–17) makes the total price defensible.
Who should skip it: guests who want a purely adult or couples experience will find the family-orientation persistent. The resort is specifically designed for multi-generational travel. Solo skiers or experienced riders who want to self-manage their mountain day will find the Club Med structure somewhat constraining.
Practically: Zurich airport is 3 hours by road, Milano-Malpensa is also 3 hours, Munich is 4 hours. Engadin Airport is just 3 miles away for private or charter flights. The property has 311 rooms across four main categories from a single-bed shared-bathroom Junior Room to Family Superior Rooms sleeping four. Wi-Fi is only available in common areas, not in rooms — a notable gap for a modern resort.
St. Moritz itself adds value: the frozen lake hosts horse and greyhound racing in winter, polo matches, and the famous Cresta Run tobogganing event. These are not included but are within easy reach of the resort.
