Exceptional G.O. Team
The G.O. staff's energy, friendliness, and dedication are repeatedly highlighted, providing excellent assistance and memorable evening shows. Many guests consider G.O.s the primary reason for an unforgettable stay and desire to return.
Family-Friendly Activities
The resort is highly lauded for its extensive and well-organized activities for all ages, particularly the flying trapeze, rock climbing, archery, and engaging kids' clubs, ensuring children's enjoyment and parents' peace of mind.
Stunning Natural Scenery
The breathtaking views of the karst mountains and the resort's integration into the Yuzi Paradise open-air museum are consistently praised as therapeutic and picturesque, offering unique photo opportunities.
All-Inclusive Convenience
The hassle-free nature of the all-inclusive package, covering meals, drinks, and a multitude of activities, is a significant draw for guests, offering ease and comprehensive value without constant budgeting.
Aging Facilities
The most common concern relates to the resort's facilities, including rooms, being 'a bit dated' or 'older,' impacting the perceived modernity of the stay despite generally being clean and functional.
Average Food Quality
While the variety of food is appreciated, some guests caution that the overall dining quality, though abundant, might not always be exceptional or particularly delicious, suggesting it's more about quantity than gourmet experience.
Indoor Pool Temperature
A specific complaint highlights the freezing temperature of the indoor pool water in winter, making it less enjoyable or unusable for swimming during colder months for some guests.
Remote Location
Guests should be aware that Club Med Guilin is quite far from the city center, necessitating planned transportation for off-site exploration and often limiting spontaneous activities to within the resort grounds.

The Yuzi Paradise Sculpture Park sets Guilin apart from every other Club Med property. The resort shares its 46-hectare grounds with over 100 contemporary sculptures by international artists — guests walk through an open-air museum to reach the pool, the restaurants, and the karst mountain viewpoints. This isn't resort landscaping; it's a legitimate cultural institution that Club Med occupies as its setting. Against the backdrop of Guilin's iconic limestone peaks, the effect is genuinely unusual.
China's first natural swimming pool — plant-based filtration, no chlorine — is on the property and is the second operational differentiator. The natural pool sits in the karst landscape and represents an eco-infrastructure approach that's rare in Chinese resort development. The adults-only Zen Pool is separate and more conventional.
The resort has two hotels with distinct characters. The HOMA building is adults-only (12+) and houses the Lotus specialty restaurant and Moon Bar — higher-design rooms, quieter, more curated. The Courtyard building is family-oriented with standard access. This two-hotel structure within a single resort gives Club Med Guilin more range than most properties its size (330 rooms).
The Rooftop Restaurant's Mongolian BBQ and Chinese Hot Pot format — 360° karst mountain views from the third floor while guests cook at live stations — is the most distinctive dining experience. The Noodle Bar's Guilin rice noodle soups represent the regional specialty worth seeking out. Both La Lotus and The Rooftop require reservations.
The honest limitation: Guilin is an inland resort in southern China. Airport transfer (KWL) is 45–60 minutes. International guests face longer routing than beach destinations. The resort is geared toward the China domestic travel market, with strong Mandarin-speaking programming — English-language instruction and entertainment vary in availability.
