Bahia Principe Grand Tequila opened in December 2025 as the newest adults-only property in the Bahia Principe Riviera Maya complex, separated from the former Grand Coba grounds into its own dedicated resort. The Mexican cultural theme — tequila branding, cantina-style nightclub, Mexican street food — is more fully executed than the regional styling at most Caribbean all-inclusives. Two pools (the Activity/Party Pool and the quieter Iguana Pool), a Nikkei fusion restaurant, a dedicated BBQ smokehouse, and a cross-complex dining arrangement with Grand Coba and Grand Tulum (12 à la carte restaurants total) are the main draws.
The resort caters specifically to adults-only travellers who want a more energetic, party-adjacent atmosphere than the typical all-inclusive. If you want quiet, the Iguana Pool (also called the Main Pool) is the calmer zone, but the overall vibe skews younger and more social than a spa-retreat adults-only property.
Two honest limitations: the beach is not on-site. It's a 5–10 minute shuttle or walk, and the private beach area is described in guest reviews as rocky rather than the sandy Caribbean beach guests expect. The swim area quality has disappointed multiple guests specifically on this point. The mixed drinks quality is also flagged — multiple reviews mention low-quality cocktail mixes producing mediocre results.
The Solo Collection room category is an unusual inclusion — 452 sq ft suites specifically configured and marketed for solo travellers. Rare at all-inclusive resorts where the pricing structure typically penalises single occupancy.
The resort sits approximately 75 minutes from Cancún International Airport (CUN). It shares the Bahia Spa facility with Grand Coba.
