Stunning Sandy Beach
Guests consistently praise the resort's beautiful and expansive sandy beach, highlighting its softness and shallow entry which is perfect for children.
Abundant Swimming Pools
The numerous swimming pools, including activity, relaxation, and kids' pools, are a significant draw, providing ample options for water-based fun.
Friendly & Helpful Staff
The resort staff, particularly at the reception, receive frequent commendation for their friendliness, kindness, and excellent service.
Diverse Breakfast & À la Carte
While dinner buffet reviews are mixed, the variety and quality of the breakfast spread and specific à la carte dining options are highly appreciated by guests.
Ideal for Young Families
With its safe beach, numerous child-friendly activities, and kids' club, the resort is widely regarded as an excellent choice for families with young children.
Inconsistent Dinner & Drink Quality
The main buffet dinner often draws criticism for being repetitive or 'overly local,' and local alcoholic drinks are frequently described as disappointing.
Room & Facility Upkeep
While common areas are clean, some guests reported issues with room cleanliness, bathroom smells, and the general condition of specific facilities like stained restaurant chairs.
Language Barrier Issues
Communication can be a challenge for some guests due to a limited number of English-speaking staff, potentially impacting service interactions.
Advance À la Carte Reservations
Securing a table at the popular à la carte restaurants requires booking several days in advance, as they quickly become fully booked.
Mosquitoes & Minor Amenities
Guests should be prepared for mosquitoes, and note minor complaints such as cold water in kids' pools and the absence of a gym.

If the main draw is a proper sandy beach rather than a specific country's tourism infrastructure, Azul Beach Resort Montenegro earns attention. Velika Plaza — the Adriatic's longest sandy beach at 12–14 kilometers — runs directly in front of the property, and the resort renovated its 479-room facility in 2020 to launch as a 'new generation' all-inclusive. Karisma's Ultra All-Inclusive tier covers the main buffet, three à la carte restaurants (one each for Mediterranean/seafood, Italian, and Mexican), most daytime drinks, and 24-hour room service. It's a bigger, more chaotic property than most Karisma hotels, and that's both its selling point and its limitation.
Families get the most out of this property. The Azulitos Kids Club runs supervised programming 9 AM–5 PM for ages 4–12, three children's pools with slides are genuinely good, a Teen Zone with fast Wi-Fi is functional, and toddler services are explicitly included. Adults seeking tranquility can use the adult-only pool zones and dedicated lounge areas, but this is fundamentally a family resort and the overall noise level reflects that.
The honest weaknesses: dinner quality in the main Eat buffet gets mixed marks — guests flag it as repetitive and overly local — while the à la carte restaurants (book immediately on arrival; they fill days ahead) deliver meaningfully better results. Alcoholic drink quality draws complaints about the local spirits on offer. Mosquitos in the evenings are a genuine issue at this beach location — pack repellent, not just sunscreen. Air conditioning problems in rooms are a recurring complaint, and English-speaking staff are not always available.
The 479 rooms span standard studios (172 sq ft) up to 452 sq ft two-bedroom large family suites, with a Premium Section adding exclusive pool access, a BBQ restaurant, dedicated concierge, and upgraded mini-bar refill. The Podgorica Airport (TGD) transfer runs 72–75 km, roughly 75 minutes. Price tier is mid-range for the region, though the Premium upgrade adds a significant premium.
Season matters here: the resort operates May through October. Late June and early September hit the sweet spot between reliable weather and manageable crowds. The region is genuinely worth exploring by rental car — Ulcinj, Kotor, and Budva are all within reasonable reach.
