W Punta Cana has officially opened its doors in the Dominican Republic, making history as the first all-inclusive resort under the W Hotels brand. The adults-only property sits along the coastline in Uvero Alto, about an hour east of Punta Cana's main hotel zone.

The resort features 340 oversized guest rooms and suites, including 46 with either private swim-up pools or full-size plunge pools. Each room comes with a private balcony and ocean or garden views, wrapped in the kind of bold, design-forward aesthetic that W Hotels is known for.

Dining is a major focus, with 12 restaurants and lounges spread across the property. The communal layout is designed to create pockets of privacy within a social atmosphere, blending W's signature nightlife energy with the laid-back pace of a Caribbean all-inclusive.

The resort also includes the brand's signature WET Deck pool, a separate Chill pool for quieter relaxation, a 10-room AWAY Spa, and a 24/7 FIT gym. The property leans heavily into its adults-only positioning, skipping the kids' clubs and waterslides in favor of DJ-driven pool scenes and late-night lounge programming.

The opening is a milestone for Marriott's all-inclusive division, which has been aggressively expanding across the Caribbean and Latin America. W Hotels has already announced plans for two more all-inclusive properties: W Corasol Playa del Carmen in 2028 and W Costa Mujeres in 2029.

For now, W Punta Cana stands alone as the brand's flagship all-inclusive experiment, and early reviews suggest the bet is paying off.
