The St. Regis Costa Mujeres Resort is preparing to open this summer, bringing one of hospitality's most storied luxury brands to the Mexican Caribbean in resort form for the first time. The 163-key property, located in the fast-growing Costa Mujeres corridor just north of Cancún, will feature rooms, suites, and signature villas — all with the brand's hallmark Butler Service.

The resort occupies a stretch of coastline about 20 minutes north of Cancún's Hotel Zone, in an area that has attracted a wave of new development in recent years. Properties like Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres, Hotel Riu Palace Costa Mujeres, and Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres already call the area home, but St. Regis will operate at a distinctly higher price point.

Amenities will include three restaurants, multiple pools, a whirlpool, a fitness center, and dedicated meeting and event space. The low room count — just 163 keys — signals an emphasis on exclusivity and personalized service over volume.

Costa Mujeres has emerged as a viable alternative to Cancún's crowded Hotel Zone, offering quieter beaches, lower density, and views across the water to Isla Mujeres. The arrival of St. Regis could accelerate the area's shift toward ultra-luxury positioning, complementing the all-inclusive resorts that currently dominate the corridor.

For Mexico's resort market, the opening is another data point in a clear trend: global luxury brands are no longer content to leave the Caribbean and Riviera Maya to traditional all-inclusive operators.
