This All-Inclusive Chain Just Launched a Brand-New Adults-Only Brand — and Its First Resort Is on One of Barbados's Best Beaches

Royalton Luxury Resorts is branching out with an entirely new sub-brand: Royalton Vessence, an adults-only concept that trades the typical all-inclusive playbook for something more intentional. The first property — Royalton Vessence Barbados, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort — opens on the island's Platinum Coast this summer.

The 220-suite resort evolved from what was previously announced as Royalton CHIC Barbados. The rebrand reflects a sharper identity: Vessence is built around destination immersion through art, local culture, and what Royalton calls "sensory experiences." Think hands-on pottery and culinary workshops by day, live jazz and acoustic sets by night — all centered in a signature space called The Studio.

Rooms feature the brand's DreamBed mattress system and calming neutral tones. The resort also offers late-night pool access for swimming under the stars and designed spaces for digital detox — a deliberate contrast to the more party-forward adults-only brands in the market.

Standing Out in a Crowded Market

Barbados already has strong all-inclusive representation, from Sandals Barbados and Sandals Royal Barbados to boutique options like The House Barbados and Tamarind Barbados. Vessence is betting that a culture-first approach can carve out a niche among travelers who want the convenience of all-inclusive without the mega-resort feel.

One notable perk: Royalton Vessence Barbados will be the first resort on the island to offer complimentary airport shuttle service, a small but meaningful touch that removes a common friction point for guests arriving at Grantley Adams International Airport, about 30 minutes away.
