This All-Inclusive Brand Just Launched a Whole New Type of Resort — and Two Are Opening This Year
Royalton's new Vessence concept focuses on digital detox, cultural immersion, and late-night glow-lit pools, with properties coming to Barbados and Cancun.
Royalton Luxury Resorts is rolling out a brand-new all-inclusive concept called Vessence, and it is arriving in two destinations at once. Royalton Vessence Barbados will debut this summer as an adults-oriented property, with Royalton Vessence Cancun following in late fall or winter 2026.
The Vessence brand represents a shift in what all-inclusive means. Inspired by the Latin phrase veritas essentia, the concept centers on cultural connection and mindful travel rather than the buffet-and-pool formula that dominates the segment. Signature features include dedicated digital detox spaces, glow-lit pools designed for late-night swimming under the stars, and programming built around pottery workshops, wine pairings, cooking classes, and live music.
The Cancun property will be the larger of the two, with 376 suites — half of them Presidential Suites within the Royalton Suites & Villas tier. Guests will find eight dining outlets, six bars including a wine and spirits tasting room, and a creative hub called The Studio that transforms from a daytime workshop space into an intimate performance venue after dark.
Both resorts will operate under the Autograph Collection All-Inclusive umbrella, meaning World of Hyatt members can earn and redeem points at either property. That loyalty angle adds real value to a brand that is clearly aiming at a more design-conscious, experience-driven traveler.
With more than 20 properties already in its portfolio across the Caribbean and Mexico, Royalton's bet on Vessence signals that the next wave of all-inclusive growth may look very different from the mega-resort model that defined the last decade.
