Royalton Hotels & Resorts has opened Royalton Vessence Barbados on the island's Platinum Coast, marking the global debut of its new Vessence sub-brand and the company's first resort in Barbados.

The 220-suite adults-oriented all-inclusive welcomed its first guests on June 1. It sits beachfront on the west coast — a stretch of calm Caribbean water and white sand that has long attracted the island's most exclusive properties. The resort is about 30 minutes from Grantley Adams International Airport.

Dining and Rooftop

The food and beverage program is one of the most ambitious at any new Caribbean all-inclusive this year: 17 outlets in total, including five specialty restaurants (French, Asian, steakhouse, Italian, and a signature concept), a sports bar, two casual grill spots, four bars, and four rooftop venues. The Rooftop is the property's biggest single draw — four culinary concepts with panoramic ocean views and curated sunset programming.

Rooms and Loyalty

Suites range from oceanfront categories to swim-out rooms that open directly onto a pool. The elevated Diamond Club tier adds butler service and access to exclusive spaces. At the top end, Presidential and Chairman Suites offer expanded layouts with more privacy.

As an Autograph Collection property under Marriott All-Inclusive Resorts, the hotel is fully integrated with Marriott Bonvoy. Members earn and redeem points on the all-inclusive rate — not just the room, but the food, drinks, and amenities bundled into it. Award stays are expected to run 40,000 to 70,000 points per night depending on season, with the standard fifth-night-free benefit on longer bookings.

Cultural Programming

The resort has built a cultural layer that goes beyond typical all-inclusive programming. The Studio is the centerpiece — a creative space with rotating art exhibitions, pottery and painting workshops, live music, and collaborations with local artists. The property also features augmented-reality installations inspired by the island's artistic heritage.

Published room rates start around $867 per night for a garden-view junior suite. Butler-service swim-out rooms run about $1,800 per night.

Royalton already operates properties across Jamaica, Cancun, and Antigua, including Royalton Negril and Royalton Antigua. The Vessence brand signals a push into a more design-forward, culturally integrated segment of the all-inclusive market.
