This Popular Mexico All-Inclusive Just Got a New Name, 120 Extra Rooms and a Complete Makeover for Families
Riu Jalisco has been rebranded as Riu Flamingos after a full renovation that expanded the Riviera Nayarit resort to 820 rooms with new family layouts.
Riu Hotels & Resorts has completed a major renovation and rebrand of one of its flagship Pacific coast properties. The resort formerly known as Hotel Riu Jalisco on Riviera Nayarit has reopened as Riu Flamingos, with 820 rooms, new family-focused layouts and a refreshed dining program.
The rebrand reflects both the scale of the transformation and the propertys location within the Flamingos residential and resort enclave overlooking Banderas Bay. The 35-year-old resort has been effectively rebuilt around a new core audience: large families.
The biggest change is the addition of 120 new rooms and the introduction of family rooms that can sleep up to six guests in a single open layout. That configuration is one of the most requested but hardest to deliver at the all-inclusive price point, and positions Riu Flamingos as one of the more family-friendly options on Mexicos Pacific coast.
The dining lineup has also been refreshed with a new American Country restaurant and a Candy ice cream parlour, alongside completely revamped buffets across the property. The pool deck, beachfront areas and common spaces have all been redesigned with a brighter, more contemporary feel.
The relaunch is part of a broader investment cycle for Riu on the Riviera Nayarit. Hotel Riu Vallarta completed its own renovation in 2019, and Hotel Riu Palace Pacifico was relaunched in 2023 with an adults-only positioning. Together, the three properties give Riu one of the most cohesive all-inclusive brand presences on this stretch of Puerto Vallartas coastline.
