Iberostar Hotels & Resorts is expanding into two new markets in 2026 with the announcement of Iberostar Selection Montenegro and Iberostar Selection Zanzibar. Both properties will operate at the five-star level under Iberostar's premium Selection tier.

Iberostar Selection Montenegro will feature 290 suites and villas on the country's southern coast. Montenegro has emerged as one of Europe's fastest-growing tourism destinations, attracting luxury hotel brands looking to establish a presence before the market matures. The Iberostar property will be among the first major all-inclusive offerings in the country.

First Steps Into East Africa

Iberostar Selection Zanzibar marks the company's first property in East Africa. Located on Muyuni Beach, the resort taps into growing demand for Indian Ocean beach destinations that can be combined with mainland safari experiences — a trend also being pursued by competitors like Club Med with its South Africa opening.

The two openings continue Iberostar's push beyond its traditional strongholds in Spain, the Caribbean, and Mexico. The company has also recently opened Iberostar Selection Riviera Cancun, a 444-suite property near Puerto Morelos, reinforcing its commitment to the Mexican Caribbean market.

Iberostar's Wave of Change sustainability program, which focuses on coastal health, responsible seafood, and eliminating single-use plastics, will be implemented at both new properties from day one.
