Beaches Resorts has announced plans for a $500 million resort in St. Vincent and the Grenadines — making it one of the largest single tourism investments in the island nation's history and the brand's most ambitious project to date.

The new Beaches property will be a multi-year development, with design work beginning in 2026. While the parent company Sandals Resorts International hasn't confirmed an exact room count for the main resort, the project is expected to employ nearly 2,000 Vincentians once fully operational.

Why St. Vincent

St. Vincent and the Grenadines offers something increasingly rare in the Caribbean — a destination with strong natural assets that hasn't been overdeveloped by resort chains. The Grenadine island chain, which includes Bequia, Mustique, Canouan, and the Tobago Cays, gives the resort access to some of the most pristine sailing and snorkeling waters in the region.

Sandals already has a footprint in SVG with its Sandals Saint Vincent property, where 20 luxury Rondoval villas are currently under construction. The new Beaches resort would dramatically expand the company's presence on the island and bring the family-friendly brand to a destination that has largely catered to independent and luxury travelers.

Part of a Bigger Push

The announcement follows a busy stretch for Sandals Resorts International. The company recently opened the $150 million Beaches Turks and Caicos Treasure Beach Village expansion and is investing $200 million to reimagine three Jamaica properties damaged by Hurricane Melissa. Combined with the St. Vincent project, Sandals has nearly $850 million in active development across the Caribbean.
