Sandals Saint Vincent opened in March 2024, making it the newest resort in the chain and Sandals' first property on Saint Vincent and the Grenadines — an island most Caribbean travelers fly over rather than land on. That relative obscurity is one of the strongest arguments for booking here: the beach at Buccament Bay is calm, the cove is naturally protected, and the surrounding landscape is volcanic and green in a way that Cancun or Montego Bay simply isn't. The resort brought several genuine first-to-brand features, including two-story Overwater Villas, in-suite fitness rooms (Technogym equipment), and two-bedroom butler suites.
This is built for couples who want a remote, quiet destination with a full luxury complement — not travelers who want a lively party resort or easy access to lots of off-property options. Saint Vincent is not heavily touristed. Argyle International Airport (SVD) is about a 45-minute drive away; butler-level guests get a complimentary scenic boat transfer that cuts this to 20–25 minutes and is one of the better arrival experiences in the Sandals portfolio. For couples prioritizing beach quality, local culture, and an uncrowded environment over breadth of nearby nightlife or day trips, this is a strong choice.
Being a new resort is the honest caveat. Opening-year operations rarely run as smoothly as a property that's been operating for five years. Guest reviews from the first months flag some service inconsistencies that are typical of a new team scaling up. The restaurant lineup is ambitious — 12 dining concepts — and early reports suggest quality varies across them, with Buccan (the open-hearth local Caribbean concept) and Gatsu Gatsu (sushi and izakaya) drawing the strongest early reviews. Construction noise from nearby ongoing development has also been mentioned in early feedback.
The resort has 301 rooms across 15 categories at three service tiers — Luxury, Club Sandals, and Butler Elite. Every room includes a Tranquility Soaking Tub on the balcony or patio, and all rooms have king beds. Three Jewels Rum Bar stocks 32 rums corresponding to the 32 islands of SVG, which is one of the more thoughtfully local touches in the Sandals chain. The Imoro bowl bar — named from the Arawak word for green — with 30+ fresh ingredients is a genuinely useful option for guests who want lighter daytime eating.
