Activities at Secrets Tides Punta Cana
Non-motorized water sports, daily yoga, tennis, pickleball, beach volleyball, aqua aerobics, and fitness center access are all included. Introductory scuba lessons in the pool are complimentary. Motorized water sports, fishing, open-water scuba diving, golf, and off-site excursions carry extra costs.
Swimming Pools
One of two primary infinity pools open to all guests. Swim-up bar (Manatees) directly accessible. Poolside wait service. Heated. Views extend toward the beach and ocean. High-demand for premium edge spots during peak season — arrival before 9 AM is recommended.
Second main infinity pool with identical setup — swim-up bar access, poolside service, all-guest access. Sugar Reef bar services this area. Both main pools are well-sized for 668 guests but crowding occurs in peak weeks.
Exclusive to Preferred Club guests. Swim-up bar (Preferred Club Pool Bar) plus two outdoor jacuzzis integrated into the pool area. Meaningfully quieter than the main pools. The most compelling practical reason to upgrade to Preferred Club if pool space matters to you.
Three hot tubs scattered across the property, open to all guests. Good for early morning or evening use when the main pool action has quieted.
Beaches
A wide, palm-studded Atlantic-facing beach with golden sand — one of the better-quality stretches of sand in the Punta Cana region. The Atlantic orientation means wave activity and occasional rougher water, particularly in summer months and during Atlantic weather systems. Not as calm as the Caribbean-facing Bávaro beaches to the south. Complimentary loungers, umbrellas, and towels provided. Sargassum management is active but Atlantic sargassum cycles differ from the Caribbean side.
Preferred Club Beach Section
A designated private section of Uvero Alto beach for Preferred Club guests. Same sand and wave conditions as the main beach, but with dedicated service and more space. Worth the upgrade for guests who want beach time without the chair competition.
Activities & Entertainment
Equipment provided, beach access. The Uvero Alto area has moderate underwater visibility — manageable for casual snorkelers. Waves can reduce visibility during rougher periods.
Included. Beach launch. Atlantic chop can make this more challenging than Caribbean-facing beaches on windy days — best in morning.
Non-Motorized Water Sports
Included
Paddleboards, kayaks, and similar equipment included. All beach-launched. Conditions vary by season and daily wind.
Introductory Scuba Lessons in the Pool
Included
Complimentary pool-based introduction to scuba equipment and technique. Not a certification course. Good for guests curious about diving who want to test comfort before booking a paid open-water excursion.
Instructor-led pool classes, included. Schedule varies — check the daily activity board.
Organized by the activities team on the beach. Pickup games and scheduled matches. Included.
Courts available for self-directed play, included. Tennis clinics with professional instruction are available at extra cost.
Courts on property, included. Paddles and balls provided. One of the newer amenities added as the sport has grown in the resort market.
Instructor-led group sessions in salsa and other Latin styles. Included. All skill levels. Check the activity schedule for timing.
Daily Yoga Classes
Included
Morning yoga sessions included. Typically held outdoors. Good complement to the spa if you want wellness programming without spa costs.
Fitness Center Access
Included
Treadmills, free weights, exercise bikes, ellipticals. Open and included for all guests.
Live Shows and Nightly Entertainment
Included
Nightly programming at the main entertainment venue. Show quality at a 2024-construction resort is typically strong in the first years before programming rotates. Included.
Periodic themed evenings with special food and entertainment formats. Not nightly. Check the weekly schedule at check-in.
Sports Bar and Nightclub Access
Included
Desires bar doubles as the main nightlife venue. Included. Better for later evenings after the main entertainment ends.
Catamaran Sailing
Extra cost
Extra cost. Arrangements through the concierge. Half-day and full-day options typically available in the area.
Deep-sea fishing excursions at extra cost. Punta Cana offers good sportfishing — marlin, mahi-mahi, and wahoo seasonally. Book 24 hours in advance.
Open-water certified diving at extra cost. The Uvero Alto area is less developed for diving than Punta Cana's main reefs — expect transfer time to better dive sites.
Several championship courses within driving distance of Uvero Alto. Concierge can arrange tee times and transportation at extra cost.
Professional instruction with extra charge. Useful for guests who want focused coaching beyond casual court time.
Tequila Selection Experience
Extra cost
Curated premium tequila tasting at extra cost. A separate offering from any included tastings — confirm pricing at the concierge or bar.
Off-site Excursions and Tours
Extra cost
Saona Island catamaran trips, cenote visits, and Santo Domingo day trips are the most booked options from this area. All at extra cost. The resort is farther from the main Punta Cana excursion hub, so factor in additional drive time when planning.
