Iberostar Selection Albufera Park sits alongside its 5-star sibling (Albufera Playa) on one of northern Majorca's best beaches — a Blue Flag stretch with shallow, calm water that's genuinely appropriate for families with young children. The full 2023 renovation means nothing here feels dated: rooms are fresh, the pools have been updated, and the shared dining infrastructure across the two-property complex (ten venues in total, five specialty à la carte restaurants) gives a 4-star guest access to a dining program larger than most standalone resorts can offer. The Albufera Nature Reserve is literally adjacent — a UNESCO biosphere reserve with flamingos, migratory birds, and flat cycling paths that stretch out from the resort boundary.
This is a considered family choice rather than a loud pool-party resort. Star Camp runs all three age groups (Monkey 4–7 year-round, Dolphin 8–12 high season, Eagle 13–17 in July–August), the splash park and children's pool are separate from the main pools, and the beachfront at Playa de Muro gives families soft sand and almost no surf. Albufera Park guests can also access the rooftop bar at Albufera Playa — though the rooftop infinity pool itself is exclusive to Star Prestige guests. Guests who want Star Prestige exclusivity should book at the Playa property.
Honest issues: outdoor pools are unheated and cold before July and after August. Guests in rooms facing the main pool or entertainment area report noise carry during evening shows. The à la carte restaurants — particularly Martinete (Spanish tapas) — fill fast and require same-day reservation at check-in. Some room configurations have open-shelf layouts that parents of young children find less practical for storage.
Practically: 250–260 rooms, all-inclusive, 45–50 minutes from Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI). Powered by 100% renewable electricity. Albufera's Terral buffet covers all three meals; the complex's specialty restaurants (Greek, Mexican, Spanish tapas) require reservation and are shared. Hike or cycle into S'Albufera Nature Reserve from the property boundary — it's free to enter independently and substantially more interesting than most organized excursions.
