Moon Palace The Grand – Punta Cana is now open in the Dominican Republic, giving Punta Cana one of the largest and most ambitious all-inclusive resorts in a destination already packed with them.

The new resort from Palace Hotels, the same group behind Cancun's Moon Palace properties, opens with 2,171 rooms, 16 specialty restaurants, an O Spa, and a Greg Norman Eco Signature golf course. Every room comes with either an ocean or golf view.

The accommodations range dramatically in size. Entry-level Grand Superior Deluxe Ocean View rooms measure 635 square feet, with a whirlpool tub and 24-hour room service, while Grand Swim-Up Suites add direct pool access. Families can book 1,291-square-foot suites sleeping up to seven, and the resort tops out with a Grand Four Bedroom Rooftop Villa that spans 10,946 square feet and accommodates as many as 12 guests.

A next-generation Punta Cana resort

The Grand is positioned as the top tier of the Moon Palace brand, built around what guests can do on property as much as the rooms themselves. The 16 restaurants cover Caribbean seafood, wood-fired Italian, sushi, and a steakhouse, the kind of variety expected at the upper end of the all-inclusive market, where a week-long stay needs enough range to feel different each day.

Opening rates are already live. A five-night late-summer stay in a Grand Junior Suite Golf View was showing an average all-inclusive rate near $667 per night for two adults, and the resort is running an opening offer of up to 25 percent off along with $500 in resort credit, airport transfers, and a kids-and-teens-stay-free promotion.

The opening lands as Punta Cana keeps pushing toward larger rooms, bigger culinary programs, and more elaborate wellness offerings. For travelers weighing the newest wave of Caribbean all-inclusives, it joins a growing roster that includes the group's Moon Palace The Grand - Cancun.
