H10 Hotels completed a three-year renovation of H10 Playa Meloneras in southern Gran Canaria on Oct. 1, 2026, relaunching the Atlantic-facing property as H10 Playa Meloneras Horizons Collection with 373 redesigned rooms and suites.

The former H10 Playa Meloneras Palace sits in Meloneras near the Maspalomas dunes and lighthouse, a short hop from Spain's Canary Islands beach strip. The project touched every guestroom plus the lobby, Tamadaba buffet, main pool, kids club, and sports facilities, positioning the hotel as H10's third Horizons Collection resort after H10 Atlantic Sunset in Tenerife and H10 Rubicón in Lanzarote.

Rooms, Privilege, and family layout

All 373 rooms and suites now carry Atlantic-inspired decor, Chromecast televisions, Nespresso machines, minibars, and Rituals toiletries. The resort stays family-friendly, with a kids club and a heated children's pool rather than flipping adults-only.

Privilege, sold as an upgrade, adds dedicated rooms, a private lounge, a solarium, and a heated ocean-view pool with a pool concierge. Extra touches include welcome chocolates and loaner analogue cameras. Guests who want quieter pool time without leaving a family resort should price Privilege against a standard category before booking.

New dining and spa

Two à la carte restaurants debut with the renovation. Il Trastevere serves Italian cooking around an artisanal pizza oven. Sakura brings Japanese cuisine with teppanyaki show cooking. They join Gaudí, Naturalia and La Brasserie, the renovated Tamadaba buffet, and three bars including the Lobby Bar.

The Despacio Spa Centre offers a dynamic pool, thermal circuit, jacuzzi, sauna, treatment cabins, and a gym. Three meeting rooms remain for small groups. For winter sun travelers comparing Canary Islands resorts, the concrete upgrades to ask about are which restaurants are included in the rate, whether Privilege inventory is available on your dates, and how the heated kids pool is scheduled.

Why the reopen matters

H10 launched Horizons Collection in January 2025 as its five-star Canaries range. Meloneras gives the brand a flagship footprint on Gran Canaria's southern coast after multi-year construction that kept the property offline while competitors kept selling winter inventory.

Travelers booking southern Gran Canaria for late 2026 should treat Meloneras as a soft-launch product in its first weeks: confirm restaurant hours, Privilege availability, and kids-club schedule directly with H10, then compare the all-in price against nearby Maspalomas and Meloneras hotels that never closed for renovation.
