This Adults-Only Brand Is Heading to Cancun — But With a Room Concept Built for the Whole Family

Royalton has opened reservations for Royalton Vessence Cancun, the second property under its new Vessence banner, ahead of a March 1, 2027 debut in Cancun's Hotel Zone. The twist: the brand launched in Barbados as an elevated adults-only concept, but the Mexico resort is being built around families and groups.

The hook is a new accommodation category Royalton is calling the Multi Bed Suite. Instead of the usual pull-out sofa, these rooms fold two full-size mattresses into a Murphy-bed design, giving every guest a real bed without sacrificing living space. It is a direct answer to the awkward math of traveling with kids, extended family or friends, and it is the only room type at the resort to include Royalton's signature butler service. The layout also clusters connecting rooms together, making it easier for larger parties to book side by side.

Beyond the suites, the 376-room resort will run seven restaurants and five bars, an oceanfront rooftop with a pool and panoramic Caribbean views, swim-out suites, beachfront cabanas, The Royal Spa and a Moddo Fitness by Royalton FIT center. It sits about 20 minutes from Cancun International Airport, and the stay leans into its setting with art workshops, cooking classes and spirits tastings inspired by Mexico.

Brand president Jordi Pelfort framed Cancun as the natural next step for Vessence after a strong reception in Barbados, pointing to the destination's beaches and global draw. For Royalton, which already operates adults-only and family flags across the Caribbean including Royalton Riviera Cancun, the new suite concept is a bet that flexible, multigenerational travel is where the all-inclusive category is heading next.
