These Two Punta Cana Resorts Just Added Tennis Academies, Bowling Alleys and Batting Cages

Two beachfront all-inclusives in Punta Cana have gone all-in on sports. Ocean Signature Resorts has rolled out an expanded athletic and family-entertainment lineup at Ocean El Faro in Uvero Alto and Ocean Blue & Sand on Bávaro Beach, reframing both Dominican Republic properties around active, multigenerational travel.

The AAA Four Diamond Ocean El Faro now anchors the push. Its sports complex includes the Vilas Tennis Academy, with eight courts split between six clay and two hard, plus three new pickleball courts, a multi-purpose court and a dedicated softball and seven-a-side football field. A six-lane bowling alley, an archery area and a beach volleyball court round out the offering, while families gather at the water playground and Jelly Club kids' club and adults retreat to the 18-and-over El Beso section.

Down the coast, the 708-suite Ocean Blue & Sand leans into the same idea with two pickleball courts, a multi-purpose court, a six-lane bowling alley, an on-site batting cage, an archery area, a beach volleyball court and an arcade zone, alongside a 24-hour gym and non-motorized water sports.

The upgrades reflect a wider shift in the all-inclusive market, where operators are competing on experiences rather than buffets. "Today's travellers want more than just a beautiful beach; they want experiences that challenge, entertain, and bring the family together," said Virgilio Acosta, sales director for Ocean Signature Resorts Dominican Republic. The moves also land as Punta Cana absorbs a wave of new competition, from Lopesan's triple resort opening to a growing roster of luxury brands.
