A Longtime Montego Bay All-Inclusive Is Reopening This Winter — With a New Name and a New Rule
The former Iberostar Grand Rose Hall returns Dec. 1 as JOIA Rose Hall, reborn adults-only after a six-month renovation.
One of Jamaica's established Rose Hall all-inclusives is coming back this winter under a new identity. Iberostar Grand Rose Hall reopens December 1 as JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar, a 295-suite adults-only resort near Montego Bay.
The property has been closed since June for a top-to-bottom renovation. The six-month project reaches nearly every major area, from suites and terraces to restaurants, bars, and the pool and beach zones. The new look draws on Jamaica, the personality of Montego Bay, and the glamour of 1950s travel, a deliberate move upmarket for a resort that was already one of Iberostar's premium Caribbean addresses.
The bigger shift is the brand. JOIA is Iberostar's upper-tier collection, and the Rose Hall reopening puts a second property under the banner alongside JOIA Bávaro by Iberostar in the Dominican Republic. Turning the Grand into an adults-only JOIA also sharpens the segmentation across Iberostar's Rose Hall cluster, leaving family demand to its neighboring resorts.
Rooms are bookable now, with Iberostar's U.S. site showing rates from about $859 per night. The timing matters: the reopening lands in the heart of Jamaica's winter high season and in a Rose Hall corridor where several well-known hotels are renovating, rebranding, or preparing to return, making the stretch one of the island's most competitive this year.
