Hyatt Hotels has named company veteran Adam Rohman as its new head of Americas, effective July 1. He succeeds Pete Sears, who is retiring after nearly 40 years with the company — making this the fourth major executive appointment at Hyatt in roughly six months.

Rohman has spent more than 20 years at Hyatt in roles spanning finance, investor relations, and global asset management. In his new position, he will oversee the operations, performance, and management of hotels across Hyatt’s Classics, Essentials, and Luxury portfolios throughout the Americas. He’ll also lead global brand strategy for the Classics and Essentials segments.

CEO Mark Hoplamazian praised Rohman as a leader with deep institutional knowledge and strong relationships across the organization. Sears will stay on as a senior advisor to ensure a smooth handoff before stepping away from day-to-day operations.

The appointment caps a period of significant leadership turnover at Hyatt. In late March, the company named Julienne Smith as head of Americas growth. Late last year, Hyatt tapped Jason Ballard as global brand leader for its Essentials portfolio and Tamara Lohan for the same role within its Luxury portfolio.

For the Hyatt Ziva and Hyatt Zilara all-inclusive brands — which together encompass a dozen resorts across Mexico, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic — the new leadership structure could bring renewed focus. With Rohman overseeing the Americas region and dedicated brand leaders now in place across each portfolio tier, Hyatt appears to be building the management depth needed to support its next phase of growth.
