Excellence Group Announces New Finest Riviera Cancun Resort for 2027
The luxury all-inclusive operator is expanding its family-friendly Finest brand to a second location in Mexico's Riviera Maya corridor.
Excellence Group has announced plans for Finest Riviera Cancún, a luxury all-inclusive resort set to open in early 2027. Quintana Roo Governor Mara Lezama revealed the project during FITUR 2026, the International Tourism Fair held in Madrid, Spain.
The Finest brand is Excellence Group's family-friendly tier, sitting alongside the adults-only Excellence Resorts and the ultra-premium Beloved Hotels in the company's portfolio. Finest Playa Mujeres, the brand's first property near Cancun, has been one of the highest-rated family all-inclusive resorts in Mexico since its opening.
Building on a Proven Formula
A second Finest property in the Riviera Maya corridor makes strategic sense. The stretch between Cancun and Tulum is the most visited resort region in Latin America, and demand for luxury family all-inclusive options has outpaced supply. Excellence Group has built a reputation for delivering higher service ratios and more refined dining than the mass-market brands in the same destinations.
The announcement comes as Excellence Group also recently opened Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres, expanding its adults-only footprint near Cancun. The company's strategy of operating multiple properties in the same destination allows it to share infrastructure, transfer staff expertise, and offer guests variety within a single brand ecosystem.
Construction details and room counts for Finest Riviera Cancún have not yet been disclosed. The 2027 target places it in a pipeline that already includes major openings from Marriott, Hyatt, and Iberostar in the same region.
