A Private Island Resort in the Caribbean Just Opened 12 New Bungalows — Each With Its Own Plunge Pool
Ambergris Cay's new Waterside Bungalows bring luxury residences up to 2,257 sq ft to its 1,100-acre private island in Turks & Caicos.
Ambergris Cay, the all-inclusive private island resort in the Turks & Caicos Islands, has opened 12 new Waterside Bungalows along its sheltered sound — adding a quieter, water-facing option to complement its existing beachfront accommodations.
The collection includes six one-bedroom residences spanning nearly 1,600 square feet and six two-bedroom residences at approximately 2,257 square feet. Every bungalow comes with a private heated plunge pool, a shaded terrace, indoor-outdoor living spaces with floor-to-ceiling glass, and complimentary kayaks and paddleboards for exploring the calm waters directly from the terrace.
Unlike the high-density, high-energy all-inclusive experience at larger Caribbean resorts, Ambergris Cay operates on a different model. The 1,100-acre private island keeps guest counts low and focuses on seclusion, with amenities that include globally inspired dining, dedicated island hosts, bone fishing lessons, beach bonfires, and the resort's signature floating Hangover Tiki Bar.
Access is part of the appeal — and the exclusivity. Guests can land a private jet on one of the Caribbean's longest runways, or fly commercial into Providenciales (home to Grace Bay and larger resorts like Beaches Turks & Caicos) and then take a complimentary transfer flight to the island. American Airlines also offers direct Miami-to-South Caicos service with a ground transfer.
The bungalows are being offered at an introductory Founder's Rate during the launch period. A new kids club near the Waterside Bungalows is also planned for later in 2026, suggesting the resort is looking to expand its family appeal beyond its traditional couples-and-small-groups market.
