The 2024 renovation is what makes Iberostar Playa Gaviotas Park the most current option among the Jandía all-inclusives. When the rest of the strip is working with 2010s infrastructure, a fully rebuilt property matters — new room fixtures, updated common areas, and the resort's signature playful detail: a slide from the reception level down into the hotel. It's a minor thing, but it signals the tone of the redesign.
This is primarily a family property. Six pools (five outdoor including a splash park with slides and a children's pool, one indoor spa pool), the Star Camp kids' club for ages 4–17, and a Star Prestige zone for adults who want a quieter experience within the same resort. The Star Prestige area includes an exclusive pool and open bar for guests 15 and over — a meaningful separation when the main pool is dominated by families.
The main drawback is noise at peak occupancy. The main buffet restaurant (Maday) gets loud during full-house dinners, and the splash park generates significant noise near the family rooms during the day. Guests who flag a quiet preference and book away from the water park zone report a better experience.
Practically: 237 rooms, all-inclusive, 62–90 km from Fuerteventura Airport (FUE) — budget 60–70 minutes by car. EarthCheck certified, 100% renewable energy. The resort operates a water activity program from Jandía beach (most water sports through external operators), and the Tapas Bar runs Canarian and Spanish small-plate dining. The beach at Jandía is 25 km of fine sand, but strong Atlantic wind on this coastline makes conditions variable.
