Most activities are included in the Unlimited-Luxury rate. Golf and island excursions are the primary paid extras. The complimentary weekend shuttle to the Walled City is a standout feature — Cartagena's historic center is genuinely worth a half-day visit.
The central pool, open 8am–6pm. Adequate size for the property — 268 rooms means it doesn't get overwhelmed. The primary activity hub during the day.
A quieter secondary pool designed for low-activity use. Useful for guests who want to read or float without the animation team-organized games happening around them.
Exclusive to Preferred Club guests. Enhanced service and a more private atmosphere. One of the stronger reasons to consider the Preferred Club upgrade for couples.
Shallow, dedicated to children. Separate from the main pool areas — allows families to keep young children in appropriately shallow water.
Located near the beach, with sea views. Poolside bar available. The best position for guests who want pool use with an ocean backdrop without the wind exposure of the beach itself.
Private pools accessible from the terraces of Swim-Out suite categories. Not public pools — exclusive to the guests in the corresponding suites.
Located 100 meters from the main resort building, accessed via a short walk or beach shuttle. The sand type is described inconsistently in different sources (white, golden, or black sand depending on the stretch). The beach is on the Caribbean, so wave energy is generally lower than Pacific alternatives. Strong winds are the main operational challenge — on windy days, blowing sand and choppy conditions make beach time less pleasant. Non-motorized water sports are available from the beach. Beach bar service, waiter service, and complimentary sun loungers and umbrellas are provided for resort guests.
Kayaking and sailing from the beach, included. Caribbean conditions at Manzanillo Beach are generally calmer than Pacific coast properties.
Listed as included. Confirm with the watersports desk on arrival — this is unusual for an all-inclusive and details (number of dives, certification requirements) should be verified in person.
Four outdoor courts, included. Tennis clinics available to work on specific skills — less common at all-inclusives and worth taking advantage of.
Available in the recreational area, included.
Available throughout the day, included.
Courts on Manzanillo Beach, included. Organized games by the animation team.
Complimentary rentals and guided tours of the Karibana grounds, included. The gated community setting provides safe cycling terrain.
Fully equipped, included.
Scheduled sessions, included.
Pool-based sessions, included.
Scheduled, included.
Ages 3–12, 9am–9pm daily, included. Video games, crafts, camping adventures. The 12-hour daily window is long enough to give parents genuine resort downtime.
Outdoor play area, included. Available outside Kids' Club hours.
Ages 13–17, 10am–10pm, included. Video games, table games, teen lounge.
Dedicated social space for teens, included. Separate from the kids' club.
Shows, music, and themed parties every evening, included.
Evening events at the beach club, included.
Scheduled, included. Colombian cumbia and salsa instruction is a culturally relevant offering given the location.
Colombian food and art integrated throughout the property. More culturally specific than the generic 'local culture night' found at most AMR Collection properties.
Weekend shuttle to Cartagena's UNESCO-listed historic center, included. The Walled City (Ciudad Amurallada) is the single most compelling reason to base a Caribbean trip in Cartagena rather than another destination — don't skip this.
Full animation team, included.
Extra charge at discounted rates for resort guests. 18-hole Jack Nicklaus-designed TPC course — the only TPC layout in South America. Club rental, caddy service, and lessons all available at additional cost.
Extra charge. Barú Island, Rosario Islands, and Cholón Island are the main options. Barú has good beaches and snorkeling; Cholón is a floating party beach popular with younger travelers.
