Rating6.4Non-motorized water sports, land sports, and a daily activities program are all included. The Decameron Explorer desk in the lobby sells excursions to Tayrona, Playa Blanca, and Santa Marta's historic center — these cost extra and require advance booking for Tayrona specifically.
Central location beside the galleon restaurant complex, swim-up bar included. Open 8:30 AM–7 PM. Medium-sized pool that gets busy during midday; loungers around the perimeter fill up by 9 AM in high season. The swim-up bar is the main practical amenity.
Near the central tower, shallower and age-appropriate. Open 9 AM–6 PM. The Snack-Grill is adjacent, which is convenient for families with young children who need to eat on their own schedule.
Direct access, approximately 100 meters from the main building. The beach is calm by Caribbean standards — low wave action makes it good for swimming and water sports. Described by most guests as clean with manageable seaweed levels. Sun loungers, beach umbrellas, and the Cocos Bar are on-site. The beach recreation area doubles as the evening show venue. Not truly private — the beach is accessible to the public — but the resort's section is clearly marked.
Equipment included, launched from Pozos Colorados Beach. Calm water makes this accessible for first-timers.
Included. Conditions depend on wind — ask beach staff about the forecast for your stay.
Gear included. The beach water is calm but visibility is moderate; not a dive destination.
Catamaran use included. Best for guests with some prior sailing experience.
Included. Good option for young children who want to be on the water without swimming.
Two outdoor courts, reservation may be required. Bring your own racket if you're serious — resort equipment quality varies.
Included, no reservation needed. Casual play only.
Organized games on the beach. Good way to meet other guests.
Casual five-a-side soccer in a dedicated beach zone. Popular with Colombian families.
Included but limited hours (8 AM–5 PM, reservation required). Located at the stairs between the adult pool and beach. Basic cardio and strength machines — adequate for maintenance, not serious training.
Included in the daily activity schedule. Check the daily program board for times.
Daily supervised program for children. Specific age ranges and hours not published — ask at check-in.
Outdoor play area. Useful for the under-6 set between pool sessions.
In-house entertainment troupe performs nightly near the beach. Programs alternate daily. This is a Decameron signature — production quality is above average for the price point.
Part of the evening entertainment rotation alongside the main shows.
La Cueva, 11 PM–2 AM. Included beverages, 18+.
Scheduled sessions; check the daily program.
Salsa and traditional Colombian dance instruction included. One of the better cultural value-adds at this property.
Extra cost. Decameron Explorer desk in lobby handles Tayrona tours, Playa Blanca trips, and city tours. Tayrona requires advance park entry reservation and yellow fever vaccination proof.
