Eco-Certified Property
Rating.Bio
La Manga del Mar Menor is a narrow land strip separating the Mar Menor lagoon from the Mediterranean Sea, and AluaSun Doblemar occupies a position that gives guests direct access to both bodies of water. The lagoon side is warm, shallow, and virtually wave-free — among the calmest natural swimming conditions in Spain, ideal for families and beginners in water sports like windsurfing and kitesurfing. The Mediterranean side, a 150–250m walk across the strip, offers full ocean conditions with more wave action. That dual access is the reason to choose Doblemar over other all-inclusives on the Costa Cálida.
Families dominate the guest mix, with the Astro Club (4–12) and a full daily entertainment program filling the schedule. The eco certification from Rating.Bio signals environmental commitments above the brand average, which may matter to some travelers. Couples can find space — there's an adults-only pool — but the property makes no serious pretense of being adults-focused. The comprehensive fitness class schedule (zumba, pilates, yoga, dance, stretching) is among the more varied offerings in this brand.
The honest drawbacks are consistent across recent reviews. The all-inclusive drinks program is frequently described as limited in variety with long queues at bars, especially during midday. Some guest reports mention unpleasant odors in certain outdoor areas and bar sections — possibly related to drainage issues near the pool area. Wi-Fi is weak throughout the property. Room decor is dated despite the 2017 renovation; some guests report old, worn furnishings and off-putting smells on arrival.
The resort has 500–510 rooms, mostly in the 24 sq m range with sea-view balconies on both the Mediterranean and Mar Menor sides. The nearest major airport is Murcia International (RMU), roughly 62 km away — around 75 minutes by car. San Javier/Murcia-Corvera airport (MJV) is closer at about 11 km. Parking costs €20 per day on-site. Dogs up to 10 kg are accepted at €20 per night in designated rooms.
