This Adults-Only Resort Brand Is Leaving Mexico for the First Time — and Landing in Jamaica
UNICO is bringing its adults-only, all-inclusive model to Montego Bay in 2027 with 451 rooms, nine restaurants, and its largest spa yet.
The adults-only UNICO Hotel Collection is making its first move outside Mexico, and it's picking one of the Caribbean's deepest all-inclusive markets to do it. UNICO 18°77° Montego Bay has opened reservations ahead of a March 1, 2027 debut, bringing 451 rooms and suites to Montego Bay as the brand's third hotel and first in the Caribbean.
Nearly every room will have an ocean view and a private outdoor spa tub. The resort is planning nine restaurants and bars, four pools, and the largest Esencia Wellness Spa in the UNICO portfolio, with hydrotherapy, fitness classes, and treatments drawing on Jamaican ingredients. UNICO's signature Local Host concierge service is coming along for the trip, handling everything from spa bookings to golf tee times.
The food and culture program leans hard into its new home. UNICO says its kitchens will pair international cooking with Jamaican staples — Scotch bonnet, pimento, ackee, seafood, and Blue Mountain coffee — while the calendar adds rum tastings, coffee experiences, live music, and artisan workshops. Locally commissioned artwork will run throughout the property.
The latitude-and-longitude naming continues here: 18°77° points to Jamaica, following UNICO 20°87° Riviera Maya and the upcoming UNICO 20°105° Riviera Nayarit in Mexico.
The choice of Montego Bay is a strategic one. Sangster International Airport is among the Caribbean's busiest gateways, with broad U.S. nonstop service, and the surrounding coast already holds a dense field of adults-only competitors like Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall and Secrets St. James Montego Bay. It also puts guests within reach of Negril and Ocho Rios for day trips. Reservations are open now, with swim-up king rooms running around $612 a night ahead of the opening.
