Marriott's Most Exclusive Hotel Brand Is About to Open Its Second Resort Near Cancun — With 160 Rooms and Butler Service
The St. Regis Costa Mujeres Resort Cancun opens June 25 with 160 rooms, five restaurants, and signature butler service on a beachfront site north of the hotel zone.
The St. Regis Costa Mujeres Resort Cancun will welcome its first guests on June 25, making it the second St. Regis property in the greater Cancun area and one of the most anticipated luxury openings in Mexico this year.
Set on a 3.5-hectare beachfront site about 20 minutes north of Cancun's hotel zone, the resort features 160 guest rooms and suites plus 80 branded residences. Every room includes a private balcony or terrace and access to St. Regis's signature butler service — a hallmark of the brand that dates back to its founding in New York in 1904.
The dining lineup spans five venues: Costa Coral, an all-day Mexican restaurant; Fish Market and Palmare Grill for lunch; Shami, an Asian fusion restaurant for dinner; and the St. Regis Bar. The property also includes multiple pools, a full-service spa, a fitness center, and a kids club.
The resort joins the St. Regis Kanai Riviera Maya, located about 40 minutes south of Cancun, giving the brand two distinct options in the region. While Kanai sits within the Mayakoba development, Costa Mujeres represents a bet on the fast-growing stretch of coastline north of the traditional hotel zone, where several major resort brands have staked claims in recent years. Other properties in the area include Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres and Grand Palladium Select Costa Mujeres.
Rates start at around $660 per night before taxes, climbing closer to $1,000 during peak winter months. Marriott Bonvoy members can book with points starting at roughly 104,000 per night. The property was first announced in late 2022 with a planned early 2025 opening, so the June debut comes after more than a year of delays — but the finished product appears to deliver on the brand's ultra-luxury positioning.
